Luis Suñén, Scherzo
London Symphony Orchestra. Obras de Turina, Elgar y Shostakovich. 29-V-2010. Auditorio Nacional, Madrid.
The London Symphony Orchestra weekend in Madrid had a protagonist: Pablo González. The Asturias-born conductor - physically a mix between Mahler and Roberto Bolaño - made the most of the rehearsals with the British orchestra, capitalised on his technique and personality during the concert and got the best out of a very professional orchestra. He gave us a memorable evening, a business card available for those interested. The Barcelona Symphony might not be aware of what they have quite yet, but they will hopefully know how to take care of him.
